Caroline Flack ‘s mother has hit out to remedy some “untruths” after the prosecutor of her daughter, Ed Beltrami, claimed “I was right to charge her”.
Speaking out, the Love Island star’s mum, Chris Flack, urged the Crown Prosecution Services (CPS) to “let her daughter rest in peace”.
Chris slammed the CPS for speaking out while Caroline is “unable to defend herself”, after she took her own life a few months ago.
She vented: “My daughter was unable to defend herself during her life and is unable to do so now. Shame on you.”
Chris addressed her grievances surrounding Ed Beltrami’s recent allegations and took to her local newspaper for support with airing her views.

She told Eastern Daily Press: “It is deeply regrettable that Mr Beltrami could not have let my beautiful daughter rest in peace.
“It is as regrettable that he should choose to repeat some of the untruths about my daughter.
“My daughter was unable to defend herself during her life and is unable to do so now. Shame on you.”
One allegation that really upset Chris, was Mr Beltrami’s claim that he had “no idea” that Caroline was capable of taking her own life.
Mr Beltrami said to the Wales on Sunday newspaper: “You’ve got to do what you think is right. You cannot do what you think is popular.”
Stipulating that he couldn’t have foreseen the tragic outcome, he added: “You have absolutely no idea that the defendant is going to take her own life.”
Addressing the claim, Chris said: “Mr Beltrami says that the CPS ‘had no idea’ that my daughter may take her life when they decided to continue the case against her.
“If that is true then the CPS ignored the correspondence from my daughter’s solicitors and a psychologist’s report warning of just that possibility.
“It also ignores the fact that my daughter had cut herself so badly the night of the incident for which she was arrested that she was taken to two different hospitals and there were concerns for her life.
“How can you claim to have ‘no idea’ that someone may take their life when they have already attempted to do so because of the events in question?
“Does Mr Beltrami claim to be ignorant of these facts or is he just ignoring them? The CPS were fully aware of these matters and the risk when they decided to continue the prosecution.”
Caroline was arrested at her North London house after her tennis star boyfriend Lewis Burton sustained an injury at her home, with police and ambulance services deployed.
Following the altercation and arrest, Caroline stepped down from hosting ITV2’s hit matchmaker show Love Island.
The TV personality was released on bail after the first court hearing and forbidden from contacting Lewis ahead of her trial on March 4.
Caroline took her own life on February 15 2020.
