EastEnders' Jake Wood says BBC soap is using CGI for socially distanced filming

EastEnders actor Jake Wood revealed some behind the scenes filming secrets on today’s Good Morning Britain.

The 47-year-old soap star, who plays Max Branning on the BBC programme, revealed they are going to use CGI to film scenes.

He told hosts Piers and Susanna: “First day back was yesterday… it’s going to take a bit of getting used to.”

After saying he wasn’t allowed to tell viewers all the filming secrets, he revealed: “It’s very clever… you’re not going to notice the difference as a viewer.

“Almost every shot has CGI in it.”

Piers made a cheeky comment to the EastEnders actor later in their interview, leaving him red-faced.

Morgan didn’t hold back as he asked Jake how things are going to work in terms of sex scenes.

He questioned Wood, saying: “How does anybody in the Square have sex again?”

Susanna appeared to be shocked as she exclaimed: “I beg your pardon?”

Piers continued, saying cheekily: “Well, how do they get it on if they can’t touch each other?”

Jake quickly replied: “Well this is one of the ways that they’re looking to film in where people can appear to be kissing and together.”

Piers then asked former Strictly Come Dancing star Jake: “Have you done your first socially distanced love scene yet?”

As Jake said he hadn’t done any yet, Piers asked if he was looking forward to it.

Jake responded: “Like anything at the moment, it’s going to be a challenge, Piers.”

Piers then delivered a brutal dig as he remarked: “Well I can imagine it would be anyway Jake, at your age?”

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV and EastEnders airs tonight at 7.30pm on BBC1
