1D fans praise 'brave' Louis Tomlinson for parting ways with Simon Cowell label

One Direction fans have flooded Twitter to praise Louis Tomlinson for his decision to part ways with Simon Cowell.

Louis, 28, took to social media on Saturday afternoon to reveal he has now left Cowell’s record label Syco.

The decision has shocked many as Simon and Louis famously have a close relationship – with Louis even returning to The X Factor as a judge in 2018.

In a short statement, the singer said he’s “really excited for the future and to be back in the studio writing the next album”.

Louis had only released one solo album under Syco before they called it quits.

The post was immediately jumped on by his loyal fans who raced to give their take on the situation as like it over a quarter of a million times in just a a couple of hours.

Replying to the post, one fan wrote: “Louis we’re so proud of you.”

Another added: “You are free baby.”

“Louis you’re so brave, I love you always,” a third continued.

A fourth wrote: “I love you so much Louis, you are strong, brave and an amazing person.

“You deserve all the happiness, I’m so proud of you baby.”

Meanwhile, former One Direction drummer Josh Devine tweeted: “Wow man, big news. Very excited for you brother.

“You’re a great talent and a great person. You deserve it man. Keep well and I look forward to hearing a new record! Much love my friend.”

Seeing the comment, Louis publicly replied: “Bless you man that’s proper nice. Sending love, hope you’re well.”

Louis later confirmed he has only just started working on his sophomore album though currently has a “few concepts and ideas”.

Speaking to The Sun about the split, an insider said: “Louis and his team felt they had come to the end of their working relationship with Syco and Simon didn’t stand in the way of Louis leaving.

“They mutually agreed he could leave and the technicalities were sorted this week.

The insider added to The Sun: “He had been with another Sony label in the US, Arista, and the door is still open for him to discuss the possibility of staying with them.”

A rep for Syco has been contacted by Daily Star Online for comment.
