Naya Rivera's distraught mum pictured by lake where Glee star went missing

Naya Rivera ‘s mother Yolanda Rivera has been pictured by Lake Piru where the Glee actress went missing from earlier this week.

The woman believed to be Yolanda was seen kneeling on the floor with her arms wide open as the search for Naya entered its fourth day.

Police identified a man with Yolanda as Naya’s brother.

Actress Naya, 33, vanished after going on a boat trip with her four-year-old son Josey Hollis on Wednesday and is now sadly presumed dead.

Her young son was found alone but unharmed on a rental boat on Wednesday, however there was no sign of Naya.

Since then, police have been searching for Naya, though the operation became a recovery mission after it was presumed that the US star is dead.

The police have found it difficult to search through the lake’s murky waters.

There has been footage released from the underwater search which shows the poor visibility in the California lake.

Police are using a remotely operated underwater vehicle to try and make the search for missing Naya easier.

Naya’s son Josey is reported to have told police that his mum jumped into the lake for a swim but never returned.

The police said it was “challenging” to interview a four-year-old.

However they said the incident is likely an accidental drowning, after finding no signs of foul play or suggestions it was suicide.

Ventura County Sheriff’s Office sergeant Kevin Donoghue said: “Our first day was a rescue effort, it was a life-saving effort.

“We searched with people on the ground, on the shoreline. We were looking not just for her physically, we were looking for any clues, any evidence that suggested she made it to shore.

“We didn’t find any clues, any evidence that suggested she made it to shore. The most conclusive piece of evidence we’re really holding on to right now is the statements from her son, the only witness.

“He observed his mother disappear beneath the water. So we are vert confident that she is in the water and that at some point in time we will recover her from the lake.”
