Tuesday marked Amber Heard ’s second day of giving evidence at London’s High Court in former spouse Johnny Depp ’s libel case against News Group Newspapers.
Depp, 57, is suing the publishers over an April 2018 article, written by executive editor Dan Wootton, in which he is branded a “wife beater,” following Heard, 34, accusing him of domestic abuse.
During Tuesday’s hearing, Heard claimed she’d heard rumours that Depp once pushed supermodel Kate Moss, 46, down the stairs, during the time Depp and Moss dated in the mid-1990s.
Heard said: “I had heard these rumours that he had pushed Kate Moss down the stairs. I heard it from two people.”

She said she thought “in that moment and in a flash” that he might do the same thing to her sister.
Heard claimed that she then hit Depp to allegedly protect her sister.
The actress continued: “I have been for years Johnny’s punching bag and I had never hit him.
“I will never forget it.

“It’s the first time that I have ever hit back.”
Eleanor Laws QC, for Depp, said Heard had never mentioned Kate Moss before in relation to the incident.
Heard responded: “That’s always been the case.”

“It could have led to a fatal injury to my sister,” Heard added.
Heard accepted she had not mentioned Kate Moss in the deposition or any of her seven witness statements to the trial.
Lawyer said: “You are just making this up as you go along.”
Heard replied: “Absolutely not.”
She said she had not had the “liberty or time or space” to include the detail in her statements.
When she gave her deposition in the US she said she was surrounded by 14 lawyers.
Depp has vehemently denied Heard’s allegations of domestic abuse.
