Vinnie Jones shares an emotional tribute to late wife Tanya on her birthday

Ex-England footballer and actor Vinnie Jones has shared a heart-warming message to his late wife Tanya as he posted a dedicated birthday tribute to her on his social networks.

Taking to Instagram on Wednesday, hard man Vinnie, 56, posted three gorgeous photos of Tanya.

The actor captioned the pics: “A happy birthday to a beautiful girl,” accompanied with love heart and prayer hands emojis.

Fans of the star rushed to the comment section to share their love and support with the actor.

One fan commented: “Happy Heavenly birthday Tanya, smiling and working Vin, stay positive she will be so proud of you.”

Another supporter wrote: “Such a beautiful smile. Thinking of you and your family on this special but tough day for you all.”

While another fan commented: “True gent keep punching Vinnie, I’m sure she’s looking down and happy to see you keep fighting.”

After a six-year battle with cancer, Tanya Jones tragically passed away on July 6, 2019 at the age of 53.

Tanya underwent an emergency heart transplant at the age of 21 and had previously been treated for cervical cancer twice.

Back in 2013, Vinnie disclosed that both he and Tanya were suffering from melanoma, the most serious type of skin cancer.

They both battled the disease together but Tanya’s condition worsened over time.

The former England footballer’s beloved wife died in 2019 at their home in Los Angeles surrounded by her loved ones.

A statement from Vinnie’s management read at the time: “At 8.46am local time in Los Angeles on Saturday July 6, Vinnie Jones’s wife, Tanya Jones, passed away after a long illness.

“Tanya passed peacefully at the Jones family home surrounded by Vinnie, their daughter and other family members.

“Vinnie and the family ask for privacy while they go through an understandable period of mourning during this devastating time.”

Two months ago, Vinne opened up about his lockdown experience and admitted to finding it normal being alone for “long periods” of time since Tanya died.

Talking to Express.co.uk in February, the Snatch actor said: “So I can be on my own for long periods, which it never used to be like that.

“But since losing Tans, it’s become a little bit of the norm for me.

“At least I can get out in the countryside.”
