Blackpool-based Gogglebox participant Sophie Sandiford has found a new career path after she lost her job at Debenhams as the department store went into administration.
At the time, she posted a picture on social media of herself and colleagues in their uniforms as they celebrated their final shift together, captioning the snap: “We might be going but we are going with a smile #debenhams.”
After the challenging period, earlier this year Sophie, 24, announced that she was pursuing a new career.
She explained to her brother Pete, 26, on Gogglebox that she was learning to become a florist.
Seven months on, Sophie revealed on Friday (October 1) that she’d passed her floristry exams.
Sophie proudly wore a cap and gown while Pete teased her, saying she hadn’t gained a degree.
Undeterred, Sophie said she she had gained a qualification and would soon receive a certificate in the post.
Fans congratulated Sophie on Twitter for her achievement.
One tweeted: “Sophie, yes! I FULLY support buying yourself a cap and gown for passing your floristry exam, or any exam, in anything ever.”
Another added: “Well congrats on being graduated @PeteandSophie.”
A third fan wrote: “That cap and gown suit Sophie.”
Since joining the show in 2018, the hilarious brother and sister duo have become one of Gogglebox’s most popular families.
Pete, who works in insurance, and Sophie have two other siblings, Harry and Lucy, who haven’t appeared on the show.
Pete and Sophie also have a famous uncle – Paul Chuckle, of the Chuckle Brothers fame.
Pete became a father for the first time earlier this year, when he and fiancée Paige welcomed their baby son.
The 26-year-old spoke about the news at the NTAs on September 9, saying: “It’s a bit overwhelming, got it all going on at the moment!
“He’s a cool little lad, takes after his mum not me!”
Pete proudly showed off the newborn on the September 17 episode of Gogglebox. He sat in his usual sofa next to sister Sophie who cooed over her nephew during the episode.
However, the tender moment was interrupted when the baby passed wind – with a shocked Pete exclaiming that he’d ‘s***ted’.
