Arlene Phillips, 78, shows off age-defying beauty as she makes Dancing on Ice debut

Arlene Phillips has joined Dancing on Ice as a guest judge – and she’s certainly thrilled in the outfit department to mark the occasion.

The 78-year-old choreographer famously appeared on Strictly Come Dancing for many years, and in a new gig, she’s moved to cooler climates as she appears on the ITV show for the night.

Arlene’s time on Strictly came to an end in 2008, but the star was immediately plunged back into the spotlight months ago when she appeared on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!

And now, months later, fans are happy to see her once again on ITV – and looking dazzling as ever.

Arlene looked nothing short of glamorous as she opted for a sparking blue dress with puff sleeves and a slight low-cut front – and fans were obsessed with the look.

Taking to Twitter, one user wrote: “Arlene is looking gorgeous tonight.”

While another added: “Arlene Phillips is a minx.”

A third wrote: “Bloody hell. Arlene Phillips looks amazing.”

Arlene certainly knows how to command a crowd as the famous face looked very glamorous as she joined the usual pool of hosts on Sunday evening.

It was previously reported that Arlene was one of the stars in the running to replace John Barrowman before Oti Mabuse was given the role.

However, it hasn’t stopped bosses bagging Arlene, even if it is just for one night.

The news was announced last week as a spokeswoman for ITV said: “We’re looking forward to having Dame Arlene on the show – a very special, special guest for Dancing on Ice.”

The brunette beauty will sit alongside existing judges Ashley Banjo, 33m Jayne Torvill, 64, Christopher Dean, 63, and Oti Mabuse, 31.

Prior to her stint on the show, Arlene caught up with Christine Lampard as they discussed the upcoming episode and confessed it’s likely Strictly’s Brendan Cole will be feeling extra pressure in front of Arlene.

She said: “I think Brendan is going to get his game on. I think he had his game on when he started on Dancing on Ice but I felt like the last two weeks – he’s good, brilliant – but not the spectacular brilliance.”

Arlene gushed about her stint on the show as she said: “I love judging. To judge something which has the sporting element and dance is the best thing.”

Unfortunately, it’s not been plain sailing for the stars this week, with Vanessa Bauer unable to skate after testing positive for Covid-19.

Therefore, Brenda Cole will instead be joined by Brendyn Hatfield.

Dancing on Ice continues Sunday on ITV at 6pm.
