Kirstie Allsopp’s Location show slammed by ex-colleague who claims star is 'diva'

Co-host of Location, Location, Location, Kirstie Allsop has been branded a “diva” by an ex-colleague, as well as the show in question being slammed as “fake”.

A former researcher has alleged that the popular property show that Kirstie co-hosts with Phil Spencer “cons” its viewers, while claiming that the two hosts have nothing to do with picking out homes for the prospective buyers.

Speaking to the Mirror, the ex-colleague said: “Contributors take part in the trust of having Kirstie and Phil’s help. This is a lie… even though we film them looking in estate agents’ windows.

“I felt guilty seeing the contributors’ faces all lit up. They are waiting, excited to meet Kirstie.

“Even at this stage Kirstie and Phil have no idea what they are looking for or what we found them.”

The researcher and former colleague has remained anonymous, and while doing so they branded Kirstie a “diva”

In the revealing interview with the newspaper, the source detailed how Kirstie had to have very specific snacks on call, listing the items she required on set as Green & Black’s chocolate, San Pellegrino water, nuts and fruit.

Kirstie has denied faking elements of the show.

A spokesperson for Channel 4 told the publication: “Each search is supported by a team, all of whom are named in the programme credits. They, and Kirstie & Phil find suitable properties.

“Ultimately Kirstie and Phil have the final say on the properties featured.”

Kirstie is the much-loved presenter who claims to be an expert when it comes to all things crafting, property and interiors – but she has recently come under fire for some controversial views that she holds.

In a recent interview with The Sunday Times, the home guru suggested that if young people who are looking to get on the property ladder would cut out Netflix, gym memberships and takeaway coffee they would be closer to their goals.

She was soon criticised for her views because of her background being that she is the eldest child of Charles Henry Allsopp, 6th Baron Hindlip – which led to her having help when she bought her first flat at 21 years of age.
