Dancing On Ice star Oti Mabuse’s “obscene” outfit choice came into the firing line after she stepped out on Sunday’s (February 20) show wearing a low-cut frock.
The new ITV panel member, 31, wore a stunning off-the-shoulder yellow dress that plunged deep to her navel and was nicely cinched-in at her waist – showing off her slender curves.
Looking ready for the red carpet, Oti’s copper coloured locks were groomed into big and bouncy curls with her makeup looking immaculate.
She popped on a flimsy silver necklace and matching earrings to complete her look.
While many agreed that the former Strictly Come Dancing professional looked amazing, others were critical of her attire because it had been a tad revealing.
Taking Twitter, a number of online users slammed the South African star for flashing the flesh on a family-fun programme.
One person moaned: “Put some clothes on Oti – kids are watching.”
Another tweet read: “Oti’s dress is obscene. Put them away love.”
While a third grumbled: “She is falling out… Family show…?”
However, plenty of others were blown away with her incredible frock, as one posted: “Nothing ‘obscene’ about a beautiful young woman in a beautiful dress. Oti Mabuse looked fantastic.”
Another fumed: “If its’ right that people are sending in complaints to ITV about Oti Mabuse’s dress on [Dancing On Ice], I’d like to send in congratulations or whatever the opposite of a complaint is. Absolutely fantastic wardrobe choice in keeping with the show!”
Although the TV star came up against critics it is thought she could already be returning for next years ITV skating series after announcing she was walking away from her Strictly Come Dancing commitments after seven years.
Oti, who is twice-running Glitterball trophy winner, took to Instagram to thank everyone at the BBC for giving her a platform to grow and shine.
She penned: “Never easy to say goodbye I have been part of the most amazing TV show, Strictly Come Dancing for the past seven years and it has been an incredible time. Lifting the glitter ball twice and having the best journey with all my celebrities, but also meeting and working with the best team, crew, producers, celebs and incredible professional dancers!
“You are my family and I adore you all forever. Thank you @sarahjamesface @jack.will.g and @jasongilkison for truly believing in me.
“I’m honestly so grateful to The BBC and will always remember that Strictly and BBC brought me to the UK – which I now call home and I have learnt and grown so much. – Thank You from the bottom of my heart.
“I can’t put in to words how difficult this decision has been, but I have decided not to return for the next series.”
