Amanda Holden has admitted that plenty of people mistook her on-screen niece for her real-life daughter while filming Neighbours.
The star, 51, is set to appear in the Australian soap for a special London-based episode next week as Aunt Harriet, acting alongside Harlow Robinson star Jemma Donovan.
Harlow jets off to London to meet with her aunt, but it isn’t long before things take a turn for the worst – as Amanda’s character Harriet loses her mum Prue’s diary, leaving Harlow devastated.
The pair thankfully manage to make amends, and at Corey’s suggestion Harlow opts to burn the diary and the memories it holds.
And for Amanda, there was even more going on off-set, as people thought Jemma was her real daughter.
Away from the spotlight, Amanda shares two daughters with her husband Chris Hughes – Hollie, 10, and Lexi, 16.
Lexi has just signed with Kate Moss’ modelling agency, and it looks like her future will be filled with the same glittering showbiz lights as her mum’s.
And the Britain’s Got Talent star admitted her co-star Jemma is “gorgeous”.
“The amount of times people stopped to ask, ‘is that your daughter, Amanda?’. We do look quite similar. We’ve both got kind of quite high foreheads and little round faces!
“She’s just so cool and so sweet, and I know her dad, obviously, very well. I love him and the whole family, so it was just so brilliant to be part of it all. And just so camp!” she gushed.
In real life, Jemma is the daughter of former Neighbours star and iconic celeb in his own right Jason Donovan.
But her soap star dad isn’t her only link to the showbiz world, as she is also half-niece to Australian songstress and former Neighbours actress Stephanie McIntosh.
Amanda gushed about meeting Jason for the first time when she was just 21, and he was busy signing autographs.
She explained: “I’ve met [Jemma] when she was a little girl, but not as a grown woman. So, it is weird when you see your friend’s daughter in a work situation all those years later.
“I’ve known Jason for a long time. He won’t remember this but when he was a pop star, I queued up when I was 21, just to get his autograph when he was in Joseph. He did a squiggle! I was such a huge Kylie and Jason fan.”
