Liam Gallagher teases Oasis reunion as he plans to dedicate song to Noel

Liam Gallagher says he might dedicate a song to his brother Noel at his Knebworth gig next Sunday (June 5).

The former Oasis bandmates have been embroiled in a public feud since their falling out at a Paris gig in 2009 saw the group split.

Despite Oasis selling more than 70million albums worldwide, the pair have been unable to reconcile in the last 13 years and it was reported last year that Noel had turned down £100million for a reunion tour.

Liam was asked by Zoe Ball on the Radio 2 Breakfast Show whether he would be sending Noel a card for his birthday this weekend.

“Nah, nah, nah,” Liam replied. “When is it, Sunday?… I’ll have just done Knebworth, bless him, I might give him a shout out, dedicate one of his songs to him. That’ll do his head in, won’t it?”

Oasis famously performed in front of a crowd of 250,000 at Knebworth in 1996 and next week, Gallagher will celebrate the 25th anniversary of the landmark outdoor shows by performing at the Hertfordshire venue.

Liam has vowed to be on his best behaviour as his mum Peggy will be attending the gig.

He added: “I’ll be behaving the first night cause me mam’s coming and then the second night I’ll go mental… I mean, I say that… you say that, don’t you – ‘I’m gonna go mental man the second night.'”

He added: “I’ll have a couple of beers and then be like that, ‘You know what, I’m off to bed!’”

Liam released his third solo album C’mon, You Know on Friday (May 27) and is due to perform a number of headline shows over the summer.

The 49-year-old told a Guardian Q+A with fans this week that Noel is “my brother and I love him”, before adding that his older sibling is “all bravado”.

Asked “if Noel’s life depended on a new kidney and you were the only donor match, would you give him one of yours?” Liam replied: “Without a doubt. Of course I would. He’s my brother, man, and I love him. I’d give you one as well, mate.

“Do I think he’d give me one of his? Yeah. He’s all bravado. He and all his celebrity mates just get up their own a***s. I’m sure they’re good people, but they’re very insecure.”
