Paul announced his shock departure from Radio 2 earlier this week, with speculation around the reasoning behind his exit swirling – but broke his silence before he took to the airwaves.

Taking to social media hours before heading on air, Paul addressed the reasoning behind his departure from the radio gig and revealed it to be because of his “unhappiness” surrounding the working pattern.
