English actor, comedian and producer James Corden appears to have the entertainment industry in the palm of his hands as he continues to take the world by storm with his flourishing career.
Gaining his first role in musical theatre, the talented star went on to appear in Hollyoaks and sitcom Teachers before landing a major role in ITV’s Fat Friends.
From 2007, the father of three went on to co-star in his own series, BBC Three’s Gavin & Stacey which catapulted him into a household name.

But as his career continued to go from strength to strength in the UK as well as the US, James often hit headlines for his controversial comments as well as his past sexual escapades.
As he turns 44, Daily Star has taken a closer look inside his life.
Ladies’ man
It may come as a surprise to some but James has previously admitted to having his way with the ladies.
During a candid interview with Playboy Magazine in 2017, the comedian shared details of his previous sexual escapades while appearing on Broadway in New York.
Discussing his five-month stint starring in The History Boys back in 2006, James said he and his co-star Dominic Cooper would often visit bars in New York’s theatre district, known as Hells Kitchen.
He explained: “There’s a high density of (a) dancers and (b) gay men.
“So if you’re young, straight, English and in the hottest play in New York City, you’re gonna get laid. That’s it!
“I’d basically pick up the women Dominic didn’t want, but I was more than happy with that.”
Family life
James’ wild party days led him to meet his current wife Julia, to whom he was introduced by Dominic in 2009.
Blonde bombshell Julia first started her career in the entertainment industry as an actress but she has since moved to work behind the camera and has created shows for companies in Los Angeles.
Talking about his relationship with Julia while hosting The Late Late Show in 2021, James said: “Jules and I never went on dates.
“The night we met, we talked about how we were both bored of going out all the time and that we were going out too much, and we were drinking too much and having too good of a time.
“As a joke, [we] planned the rest of our lives together,” he added.
The loved up couple share three children together – son Max, born March 2011, daughter Carey, born October 2014, and his daughter Charlotte, born in December 2017.
Harvey Weinstein controversy
In 2017, comedian James rubbed audiences the wrong way when he made jokes about convicted sex offender Harvey Weinstein.
While hosting the amfAR gala, in aid of AIDS research, James’ opening began with gags about Weinstein that were captured on video by reporter Chris Gardner.
James’ jokes included: “It has been weird this week hasn’t it, watching Harvey Weinstein in hot water. Ask any of the women who watched him take a bath … it’s weird watching Harvey Weinstein in hot water.”
He also said: “Harvey Weinstein wanted to come tonight but he’ll settle for whatever potted plant is closest.”
But James’ jokes didn’t sit well with the audience and he was met with an onslaught of boos and backlash online.
Later on, the Gavin and Stacey star was forced to issue an apology while stating that sexual abuse is not a “laughing matter”.
He said: “To be clear, sexual assault is no laughing matter.
“I was not trying to make light of Harvey’s inexcusable behaviour, but to shame him, the abuser, not his victims. I am truly sorry for anyone offended, that was never my intention.”
Co-star ‘feud’
As well as causing uproar amongst audience members, James was rumoured to have a fallout with his co-star.
Actor Mathew Horne, who plays the role of Gavin in BBC’s comedy Gavin and Stacey, previously opened up about his apparent feud with his former co-star, James.
Despite the pair once being very close friends, it was reported that they had fallen out, and were no longer in touch with one another.
However, Mathew put a stop to the allegations and said there was never any fall out.
He said: “The truth is that there was never any rift and everything is fine. James and I have always been friends and we always will be. I talk to him quite a bit given the time zones and it was great to see him and be acting with him again.”
Taking about his relationship with Mathew during an episode of Piers Morgan’s Life Stories, James also shut down the rumours.
He explained: “We never fell out, it was never that… We had such an intense love for each other. We were one person for a long time.”
Famous pals
As his career reached new heights, James became close pals with a catalogue of famous faces.
Since travelling across the pond to host his programme The Late Late Show and Carpool Karaoke, James has become well known in the celebrity circuit in both the UK and US.
As well as being fairly close with Prince Harry, James sparked an unlikely relationship with fashion guru Anna Wintour as well as Michelle Obama.
The star is also friends with Harry Styles, Adele and Michael Bublé.
