Strictly chaos as bosses fear final shows will be given boot to air World Cup on BBC

Strictly bosses fear their final shows will be kicked off the schedules by the World Cup.

The BBC is only offering audience tickets to their live shows with Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman until Saturday November 26.

This is because they do not know when the rest of their 20th anniversary series will air.

Strictly’s main shows always go out in the early evening on BBC One on Saturday and their pre recorded results show run on a Sunday evening.

However, The World Cup which is being held in Qatar this winter looks set to put a spanner in the works.

The BBC and ITV have agreed on what games they will air up until the end of November.

And so far there are no clashes with Strictly which has pleased producers.

However the headache comes in December just as the dance show launches into its quarter and semi final stages.

There are World Cup knock out games scheduled on Saturday December 3 at 7pm and Saturday December 10 at 7pm.

And the BBC and ITV have not yet decided what matches they will air.

If the Beeb screen one or both then Strictly, which this year boasts Kym Marsh, Tony Adams and Matt Goss in the line-up, will need to find a new slot.

A source said: “It is a major headache and die hard fans will be fuming if Strictly gets taken off air because of football.
