Gemma Collins shares poem to Queen after Philip visited to say 'it's time to go'

Former TOWIE star Gemma Collins has shared a touching tribute to honour the passing of Queen Elizabeth II.

The 41-year-old took to Instagram to share her condolences as well as post a heartfelt tribute to her 2.2million followers.

Alongside her sweet message, Gemma also uploaded a smiling and radiant image of the Queen with her late husband Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.

The poem shared by GC and originally written by Joanne Boyle read: “Philip came to me today, and said it was time to go. I looked at him and smiled, as I whispered that ‘I know’.

“I then turned and looked behind me, and saw I was asleep. All my Family were around me, and I could hear them weep.

The poem continued: “I gently touched each shoulder, with Philip by my side. Then I turned away and walked, with My Angel guide.

“Philip held my hand, as he lead the way, to a world where Kings and Queens, are Monarchs every day. I was given a crown to wear or a Halo known by some.

“The difference is up here, they are worn by everyone. I felt a sense of peace, my reign had seen its end. 70 years I had served my Country, as the people’s friend.

“Thank you for the years, for all your time and love. Now I am one of two again, in our Palace up above.”

Gemma then wrote: “To mark the respect of our loving queen. She was an amazing Queen and she is now with the only man she ever loved. R.I.P Queen Elizabeth”

Fans quickly flocked to the comment section to share their thoughts and condolences.

After reigning for 70 years, the Queen died peacefully on Thursday afternoon at Balmoral, Scotland.

She first came to the throne in 1952 and witnessed enormous social change.

Her son, King Charles III said: “We mourn profoundly the passing of a cherished sovereign and a much-loved mother.

“I know her loss will be deeply felt throughout the country, the realms and the Commonwealth, and by countless people around the world.”
