BBC Breakfast forced to make huge change as viewers notice everyday item has disappeared

BBC Breakfast viewers had plenty of questions when they noticed the digital clock was missing during Tuesday’s programme.

Today’s episode kicked off at it’s usual time slot of 6am, with presenters Jon Kay and Nina Warhurst fronting the first show following the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II.

But as the duo began talking about the top stories of today, it wasn’t long before eagle-eyed fans picked up on the fact the digital clock was absent from the bottom right-hand corner of the screen.

Many people who tune in to watch the early morning show rely on it for the time thanks to the digital clock, causing many to take to social media and question the digital glitch.

“What happened to the clock? #BBCBreakfast,” asked one as another added: “Where’s the little clock??? #BBCBreakfast.”

A third penned: “Whats happened to your clock this morning? Not showing @BBCBreakfast #noclock,” while someone else echoed: “#BBCBreakfast where has the clock gone?”

Seeing the abundance of questions surrounding the clock on social media, presenters Jon and Nina addressed the issue later in the show.

“Our clock is broken. It’s disappeared! Our on screen clock has disappeared,” the newsreader explained before adding: “It’s causing chaos for lots of you this morning. You’ve been in touch saying you don’t know what to do. You don’t know what the time is!”

The 52-year-old wanted to make sure viewers knew the time despite the digital mishap as he picked up his phone and said: “So if you haven’t got a clock in the house, or a phone, the time is 6:26.”

“Well done Jon,” chimed Nina.

The pair were very excited when the digital clock returned

“I’ll just keep this here all morning. I’ll keep reminding you, the talking clock,” the presenter giggled as Nina added: “Yeah apologies for that, we are trying to get the clock back.”

A few minutes later Jon excitedly said: “Good morning! We’ve got the clock,” before confirming: “Oh no we haven’t got the clock back.”

The duo then let out a small squeal as Nina exclaimed: “Oh there she is!,” as Jon joked: “Okay calm down, we’re back to normal.”.
