A Place in the Sun fans blasts host for showing tiny £200k home with no windows

A Place in the Sun fans were baffled when presenter Craig Rowe showed his guests a home with no windows.

House hunter Claire, from Bedfordshire, had a budget of £190,000 to look for a holiday home in her favourite getaway hotspot in Palma, Mallorca.

Hoping to find a spacious one-bedroom flat big enough to host her two grown-up sons, she took her best friend Debbie along to help her while Craig showed her five properties in the city.

But it wasn’t an easy search for them as properties in the Old Town area were generally over Claire’s budget.

On the last property, Craig took the guests to the popular La Rambla area for a cosy one-bedroom flat for an eye-watering asking price of £205,500.

He said: “So we’re looking at a ground floor property this time, despite the lack of windows through much of this ground floor apartment, the living room feels modern and cosy.

“So obviously you’re passing through the main living space there into the kitchen here. It is quite unique, there was something I quite liked about the sort of subdued calmness of it.”

Debbie looked around the dining area and noted: “It’s quite quirky, it feels quite individual and I quite like that.

“Yeah, there’s just no windows, I’ve just noticed.”

Craig quickly chimed in and asked Claire how she felt about it.

She said: “Well, I do like natural light but I just want to hold any kind of judgement on that just yet, I want to feel the rest of the place.”

Craig however mentioned that there were windows in the main bedroom but it was not enough to pull at Claire’s pursestrings.

After the viewing, Claire said: “It’s a beautiful location, I think one of the key things for me there wasn’t enough natural light.

“I don’t want to say it isn’t a contender because I love where we are, but the natural light for me, it’s not doing it.”

Viewers agreed with Claire and were shocked at Craig’s “poor choice”.

Viewers complained Criag had brought his guests to a ‘cave’ or a ‘dungeon’

One said: “No windows, he’s showing her a cave.”

“What did he say? A lack of natural light? Is he showing her a dungeon?” a second remarked, and a third wrote: “What? A tiny outside space? Regardless where it is, it’s not worth the asking price!”

A fourth added: “Can’t believe the main selling point of the bedroom is that it actually has a window.”
