Lorraine Kelly has shared a heartwarming tribute to actor Ray Stevenson who sadly died at the age of 58.
On Monday (May 22), fans were left stunned after news broke that Ray, who is known for starring in major TV shows such as Rome, Vikings and Dexter died while on a film set.
During her self-titled programme, a picture of Lorraine standing alongside Ray in her studio was shown as she went on to describe him as a dear “friend”.

Sharing her take on the sad news, Lorraine, 63, said: “Of course, our thoughts are with his wife and his children and everybody that knew him, everybody that loved him.
“So many people are paying tributes!”
Lorraine then went on to share that she enjoyed Ray’s characterisation of Titus Pullo in the drama series Rome.
She said: “Now if you haven’t seen Rome, can I just say download it because his performance as Titus Pullo is brilliant!
“It’s one of the best things that I’ve ever seen on TV, such sad news. Really is,” she added.
Ray passed away on Sunday in Italy, according to his representatives, but the circumstances surrounding his death are still unknown.
Born in Northern Ireland, the movie star began his career appearing on TV shows in the 1990s but later landed action roles in Hollywood films during the 2000s.
A year after the TV series Rome came to an end, he was on-screen once again starring in Punisher: War Zone as Marvel anti-hero, Frank Castle.
He then went on to appear in the Marvel film, Thor as Volstagg, a member of Thor’s pals known as the Warriors Three.
He last played the part in Thor: Ragnarok in 2017.
Since the news of his death was announced, tributes have poured in on social media.
Marvel Studios official Twitter account penned: “We are deeply saddened by the passing of Ray Stevenson, who brought humor and wit to the character of Volstagg.
“He was a wonderful actor who will be deeply missed, and our thoughts are with his family and loved ones.”
Ray is survived by his two children and his wife Ruth Gemmell.
