Secret Cinema is the perfect way to relive your favourite movies and TV shows in real life – and this summer, they’ve got Grease up for grabs.
As a huge fan of the famous musical, I couldn’t wait! My Pinterest became flooded with ideas for outfits and I opted to channel Rizzo’s final look with her red shirt and pink shorts.

And I wasn’t the only one there looking the part! Love Island stars Curtis Pritchard and Liberty Poole were both in attendance, while AJ joined his brother to pose in front of the famous car.
While you don’t HAVE to dress up at Secret Cinema, a majority of people do look the part and I saw countless Pink Ladies, Sandy’s and T Birds.
The minute I entered I was transported to the ’50s – a time I’ve never actually lived in, but it definitely didn’t feel like 2023.
With beautiful skirts and permed hair left, right and centre, it’s not a style I’ve seen in a while, but I loved it, and after grabbing a drink I wandered the field looking for all the things they had going on.
Food vans were placed everywhere – and most of it was in-keeping with the style of the set with the likes of burgers, hot dogs and fries.
But for those of you who aren’t so keen on the classic American food like there is in the movie, they also had pizza, Gyros and duck wraps available to get your hands on.
I sat on the “bleachers” on the sports field and watched the jocks play various games including skipping rope and an egg and spoon race, but as I was stood watching, I had one member of the cast walk over to me and give me detention for my outfit.
Apparently it was “against school rules”, tell that to Rizzo!
Luckily my “detention” only lasted a few minutes and then I was free to go and roam the rest of the event, which had carnival games like pie the teacher, swings and a Ferris Wheel.
With a lot of commotion, the cast performed a number of their hit scenes, including Summer Nights, The Hand Jive and You’re The One That I Want.
But my favourite by far had to be Grease Lightening. The T Birds gave a stellar performance in the auto repair shop and danced around the famous car – it was so impressive.
It’s always been one of my favourite scenes, but in person, it was electrifying!
The Hand Jive also turned into a huge dance competition and, while I don’t want to give too much away, trust me when I saw the audience participation put a lot of smile on peoples’ faces.
By 8pm they’d thrown the movie on and everyone sat and watched on the field while the performers joined the stage for certain scenes to recreate it once again.
If you’re a fan of Grease, It’s one you don’t want to miss.
