Strictly’s Vito Coppola sends emotional birthday message to his ‘baby’ Ellie Leach

Strictly Come Dancing star Vito Coppola has sent a sweet birthday message to his close friend and dance partner, Ellie Leach.

The Italian professional took to social media to pen a loving tribute say to the Coronation Street star, with whom he lifted the Glitterball Trophy. The pair saw off close competition from couples Layton Williams and Nikita Kuzmin, and Bobby Brazier and Dianne Buswell in a gripping final in December.

They were dogged by rumours of a romance thanks to some steamy performances throughout the series, but have repeatedly shut down speculation in the months that have followed. Ellie, meanwhile has recently been seen cosying up to Bobby on the show’s live tour, setting tongues wagging further.

He soon became excited about Ellie’s birthday, however, adding: “But today is a very special day and I want to wish happy, happy birthday to someone special which is my Lulu, my baby. So baby, have the best birthday.”

Vito also chatted about how they’ll have fun celebrating when they meet up next, reports the Express. He finished by saying: “In the meantime Lulu, a kiss, a big hug.”

Vito also apologised for being absent from social media in recent times

In January the pair spoke to The Mirror and insisted they’re just really good mates. Vito shared: “We have a great relationship and honestly when you just find people, not just me and Ellie but their family which I love.

“You just find these people that you think are going to stay in my life forever, in each others lives forever. And all the family and the dogs.” Ellie added: “And the dogs, yes Rufus! ”

Vito continued: “We are going nowhere, don’t worry I am going to annoy you every single day, every week and every single year.” And when the publication asked if they meant as friends, they both said: “Yes as good friends.”

On the last night of the Strictly tour at London’s O2 Arena, Vito became teary-eyed after their final dance. He shared a lovely video of him and Ellie backstage and wrote: “It has been just perfect right?

“Love you baby and always remember our promise that we’re always there for each other. No more words needed! Good night beautiful people. You have been with us in every single moment since the beginning of our journey.”
