Strictly Come Dancing pro Giovanni Pernice has shared that an “amazing journey” has come to an end.

“Mainland Italy maybe? And I’m not sure the singing needs to be repeated! ! Great to see how much love there is between you both,” added another. A third added: “Loved this series, Argentina and/or Cuba would be brilliant choices for the next one! “.

It comes following reports that Giovanni is having “crunch talks” with the BBC with his future on the show up in the air. The Italian star has been battling alleged accusations of being ‘too harsh’ a teacher on the show.

Amanda Abbington, his recent dance partner, said she got PTSD from the show and that Giovanni was tough to work with. It’s also claimed Amanda has teamed up with Laura Whitmore and Ranvir Singh, who also danced with Giovanni, to talk about what he’s like.

An insider told The Sun: “Giovanni has a meeting with Strictly on Thursday about his return later this year. They have not received any official complaints and are backing him. He is an accomplished pro dancer and it’s expected he will be taking his place in the formal line-up when it’s announced later this month.”

But not all of Gio’s co-stars have slammed him as Michelle Visage, who was on RuPaul’s Drag Race, defended his teaching methods. She told This Morning: “I don’t like gossip, so I’m not here to gossip, but what I can say from my experience was yes, he’s tough.

“He’s probably the toughest pro there is. I wanted that. So it depends, some people can handle that, some people don’t want to handle that. I wanted that.”

She added: “We fought every day, and it was for good reason because we got to where we wanted to be, we looked beautiful together.”
