Hollyoaks Robbie Roscoe star’s unexpected link to Amanda Holden after he ‘made her moan’

Hollyoaks has now confirmed that fan favourite Robbie Roscoe will be coming back to the show later this year.

Robbie, who was played by Charlie Wernham on the Channel 4 show, was a much-loved character as he slowly turned into a menace before our very eyes. Roscoe first hit our screens on April 2, 2013 and has been at the centre of some huge storylines on the show.

From bullying teacher John Paul McQueen to pushing his twin brother Jason off a cliff, as well as several affairs, Robbie’s dastardly ways made him one to watch on the show. But actor Charlie decided to leave the show for pastures new in 2016, after his on-screen sister-in-law Lindsey was revealed to be the Gloved Hand Killer.

Now, having had another dollop of success thanks to his year-long stint on EastEnders as Aaron Moore, Charlie is making his grand return to the soap. However, things will not be plain sailing for his character as he is unexpectedly tied to Hannah Ashworth.

But as there is a huge twist in store for the baddie, Charlie’s career has gone from strength to strength as he lands major role after major role. Now, an old clip has resurfaced from before he shot to fame, in which he shared a link with a blonde bombshell.

In an old clip that has since resurfaced online, Wernham appeared on the second series of ITV smash Britain’s Got Talent back in 2008. Appearing in front of judges Amanda Holden, Piers Morgan and Simon Cowell, Charlie went on the show to try and impress the trio with his comedy skills.

And it was clear that it worked as Simon and Amanda were seen to be “howling” with laughter as he carried on with his smutty routine. Morgan was less impressed and said that Charlie’s jokes were “not funny”, but praised him for his delivery.

Wild at Heart actress Holden, now aged 53, said after his stand-up routine that he “made her moan” with laughter. Similarly, head judge Simon was bursting at the seams with praise for the star.

In the clip, the music mogul explained: “We’ve had some rotten comedians on this show, but you’re the only one who’s made me laugh and told jokes that I could understand.” After this, the upcoming actor was able to secure three ‘yes’ votes and managed to make his way to the live semi-finals of the show.

Making it to the live shows, Charlie performed a separate routine, but still filled with teenage humour and jokes. Whilst Amanda and Piers were less thrilled about the comedy, Simon was still on board and jokingly compared his jokes to that of controversial comedian Jim Davidson.

However, this would prove to be the end of the line for the star as he failed to get enough votes to make it through to the live final. Since then, he has left his comedy days behind him as he goes on to bag himself a slew of other roles that shows his range and versatility as an actor.
