Noughties pop star’s real accent ‘blows fans’ minds’ as they only just realise where she’s from

A dance floor legend has left fans with their jaws on the floor after hearing her accent for the first time.

Natalie Horler shot to fame in the 2000s as the frontwoman for Cascada. Releasing their debut tune, Everytime We Touch, the band, comprising of Natalie and DJs Yanou and DJ Manian, have gone on to become one of the most successful German acts of the 21st century.

With hits like Evacuate The Dancefloor and What Hursts The Most under their belt, the three-piece-group is showing no signs of slowing down. Just last month, they teamed up with DJ Jax Jones for the song, Never Be Lonely.

Last weekend, Cascada took to the stage at Capital’s Summertime Ball. And in an interview at the event, viewers were “shocked” after learning Natalie is actually English.

What’s more, the interviewer even shared her shock at hearing her English accent. Natalie replied: “Many people think I’m German because I live in Germany.”

She went on: “My mum’s from Romford Essex! And my dad’s from Southampton.”

The video of the interview soon made its rounds online – with plenty of X users sharing their shock. Captioning the video, one person said: “I am absolutely gobsmacked to find out that Cascada is an English woman called Natalie.”

Someone else added: “This is actually one of the most shocking videos I’ve ever seen! I don’t know what’s real anymore like how is that accent coming out of Cascada instead of a German one.”

A third penned: “Omg ??? I legit thought she was German?” Another wrote: “Wait this has blown my mind she even represented Germany at Eurovision.” A fifth proclaimed: “WHAT ON EARTH.”

Cascada’s last major hit came in 2009 when she released Evacuate The Dancefloor, which reached number one in the UK. Everytime We Touch soared to a number two position in 2005, while she also had hits with Truly Madly Deeply, What Hurts the Most and Because the Night.

Her music isn’t the only thing that has changed since 2009, as in 2011 Natalie tied the knot with banker Moritz Raffelberg in a private Italian ceremony. In 2015, the pair welcomed daughter Jamie together.
