On Tuesday’s episode of BBC Breakfast, Jon Kay and Sarah Campbell piqued viewer interest as they explored changes at the National Grid, revealing that the system is now publicly owned.
The pair passed the baton to their colleague Justin Rowlatt, who was reporting live from the highly-valued National Grid control centre.
He divulged insider information, stating: “This is quite unusual to be given permission to come into this room.
“You come through an airlock, the location is top secret, it is bomb proof. This place is a bit of critical national infrastructure because it runs the entire electricity system for the UK”.

However, sharp-eyed viewers quickly noticed an irony as the supposed top-secret location was inadvertently disclosed onscreen, according to the Express.
It wasn’t long before individuals took to Twitter, with one person remarking: “The location is top secret’ Is it though? #BBCBreakfast”.
While another cunningly observed: “Top secret location…Live in Wokingham”.
Another commented: “Funny how BBC Breakfast says they are at a top-secret location yet it says live from Wokingham at the top of my screen.”
Someone else cheekily noted: “Secret location [wink emoji]”.

Not missing a beat, during the same broadcast, Jon and sports whizz John Watson created a humorous interlude, pondering their own singing abilities.
John showed a clip featuring England cricket captain Heather Knight talking about a team singalong while overseas, sparking a lightbulb moment for him.
He quipped: “I think I’d be singing if I was leaving this weather behind, wouldn’t you?”
Jon wasn’t too enthused at the prospect, responding with: “Please don’t John, please don’t!”

Seemingly disappointed, his colleague responded: “Come on, can’t I?Please come on!”
As the focus shifted back to Sarah and Jon, he admitted that Nina Warhurst had been organising a group karaoke event for the BBC crew.
Curious, Sarah questioned what Jon’s preferred karaoke tune was, to which he chuckled: “No, no phones allowed for that particular performance I think!”
