Elton John's Concerts Put on Hold Due to Walking Pneumonia

    WENN/STMC

The ‘Candle in the Wind’ hitmaker is still too sick to perform so he is forced to postpone his remaining New Zealand shows following his walking pneumonia diagnosis.
    Feb 19, 2020
AceShowbiz – Elton John has postponed the final two shows of the New Zealand leg of his world tour after cutting a gig short due to suffering from walking pneumonia.
The 72-year-old was performing at Auckland’s Mount Smart Stadium on Sunday, February 16, 2020 when he stopped the show almost two hours in, telling the audience, “I can’t sing… I’ve got to go. I’m sorry,” but had vowed to continue the tour as planned.
However, in a statement on Tuesday, he announced the shows at the same venue on Wednesday, February 19 and Thursday, February 20 would not go ahead after he consulted with his doctors – and would be pushed back until next year.
According to the website Stuff.co.nz, the rock legend said in a statement, “I’m incredibly disappointed to have to reschedule my remaining Auckland dates and I want to send my sincerest apologies to my amazing fans for any inconvenience caused.”
“I always want to be able to give 100 per cent and I’m afraid that, right now, I’m not able to do that. I am grateful for the love and loyalty I have been shown by all of you and I can’t wait to return in January next year to perform my final New Zealand shows.”
Promoter Michael Chugg said Elton was “devastated” to postpone the shows but he “has to listen to his doctors and recover properly right now.”
The Auckland shows have been rescheduled for and January 15 and 16 2021. The Rocket Man singer’s next concert on his Farewell Yellow Brick Road trek in Melbourne, Australia, on Saturday is still going ahead as planned, pending further announcements.

Justin Bieber Credits Ariana Grande for Giving Him 'Boost' to Return to Music Industry

    WENN/Avalon/Nicky Nelson

In a new interview, the Canadian superstar admits taking the stage alongside the ‘Thank U, Next’ singer at Coachella last year pushed him to end his music hiatus.
    Feb 18, 2020
AceShowbiz – Justin Bieber was inspired to make his return to music after making an appearance during Ariana Grande’s Coachella set.
The “Baby” hitmaker credits taking the stage alongside the pop star last year for pushing him to end his hiatus, revealing he initially struggled with anxiety over how his new material would be received.
“I was dealing with a lot of fear, a lot of just… was afraid of, at that point, just even the process,” he tells Beats 1 with Zane Lowe. “What am I going to talk about again? Is it going to be received? I’m starting to compare with other artists.”
He added, “I think when I went on stage with Ariana Grande, I seen the reaction of how people reacted when I went on the stage (sic). It was like, ‘Okay.’ She gave me kind of a boost of confidence and reminded me because it’d been so long since I’d been on stage. Just kind of reminded me… ‘Oh, this is what I do. This is what I’m good at.’ And I don’t need to run away from it.”
The experience taught the singer to face his fears head on rather than let them stop him.
“I was running away,” he shares. “I think a lot of us need to take that when something’s hard. It’s almost like we need to run towards the pain and run towards the hurt rather than run away from it. I think you get kind of healing when it comes to that.”

Elton John to Stick With World Tour Schedule Despite Pneumonia Diagnosis

    WENN/VALPO NNEWs

The ‘I’m Still Standing’ hitmaker is expected to make a return to Mount Smart Stadium in Auckland on February 18 after being forced to cut short his Sunday performance because of the illness.
    Feb 18, 2020
AceShowbiz – Elton John’s “Farewell Yellow Brick Road” world tour will continue as planned, promoters have promised, despite the singer having to cut short a New Zealand concert after falling ill with walking pneumonia.
The 72-year-old was performing at Auckland’s Mount Smart Stadium on Sunday, February 16 when he stopped the show almost two hours in, telling the audience: “I can’t sing… I’ve got to go. I’m sorry.”
Elton appeared to break down in tears as he leaned on his piano and shook his head. Fans gave him an ovation as he walked off stage, aided by assistants.
The incident called the veteran’s remaining tour dates into question, but promoter Chugg Entertainment confirmed in a statement that Elton’s scheduled gigs in Australia and New Zealand will be going forward as planned.

“At this stage, all remaining shows will go ahead as planned,” the statement read. “Elton John was disappointed and deeply upset at having to end his Auckland concert early last night.”

NBA YoungBoy Risks Facing Charges for Holding Guns in 'Bad Bad' Music Video

    [embedded content]

In the new visuals, the ‘Dirty Iyanna’ rapper is being surrounded by his crew and the majority of them are carrying items that look like semi-automatic guns.
    Feb 18, 2020
AceShowbiz – NBA YoungBoy a.k.a. YoungBoy Never Broke Again’s “Bad Bad” music video might land him in troubles with the law. The “Dirty Iyanna” rapper is risking facing charges after he’s seen holding guns in the new visuals.
In the music video that was released on Monday, February 17, YB is surrounded by his crew and the majority of them carry items that look like semi-automatic guns. The 20-year-old also carries some as well, getting goofy while pretending to shoot the camera. “YoungBoy came back like they left him for dead/ Coolin’, rollin’, I told you shawty, ‘Give me head’/ Shawty don’t love me, you know, I’ma treat her bad,” he raps in the video.
East Baton Rouge District Attorney Hillar Moore said that YB has a chance of facing charges due to his status of a convicted felon. In 2017, he pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of aggravated assault with firearm after facing two counts of attempted murder.
Aside from YB, his half-brother Jeffrey Tate is also seen in the music video holding a gun. The fact that he carries a weapon in the video has sparked concern as well considering that he was involved in the murder of 17-year-old Javon Brown.
Jeffrey and his brother, Devaughn, were arrested and charged with second-degree murder in connection to the murder of Javon. Jeffrey was charged with second-degree murder, principal to illegal use of a weapon and simple battery. A judge also determined that he would be standing trial as an adult. On the other hand, Davaughn is now facing charges of illegal use of a weapon and second-degree murder.
YB has yet to make any public statements regarding the charges against his brothers. He’s also still silent about the concern surrounding the content of the music video.

Dixie Chicks to Make a Comeback With 'Gaslighter' – Watch the Teaser

    Instagram

Natalie Maines takes to her Instagram account to share a short clip of a male dancer moving along to the country group’s first single in more than a decade.
    Feb 18, 2020
AceShowbiz – Dixie Chicks has hyped up their comeback with a teaser. Months after revealing that their first studio album in fourteen years will be called “Gaslighter”, the “Not Ready to Make Nice” hitmakers gave fans a taste of their new music as frontwoman Natalie Maines put out a clip of what seems to be the music video for its title track.
Making use of her own Instagram account on Sunday, February 16, Maines put out a behind-the-scene video that captured a topless male contortionist dancing along to what sounds like the album’s title track. In the caption of the post, the 45-year-old singer wrote, “I’m gonna get in trouble for this, but that’s why you love me.”
“Gaslighter, you liar/ You had to start a fire, had to start a fire/ Couldn’t take yourself on a road a little higher/ Had to burn it up, had to tear it down/ Tried to say I’m crazy/ Babe, you know I’m not crazy/ But you gaslighted/ You’re a la-la-la-liar …,” Maines’ singing could be heard in the background of the video.
Maines’ original post was removed by Monday morning, but she uploaded a screenshot of the video hours later. Along with it, she wrote in the accompanying caption, “Ha! Like it never happened,” in addition to “gaslighter” and “soon” hashtags. Minutes later, she re-uploaded the video with a teasing caption that read, “Just kidding!”

Dixie Chicks’ official Instagram account, in the meantime, put out two photos with captions “#gaslighter” and “#dcx2020”. Both photos saw Maines along with bandmates Martie Erwin Maguire and Emily Erwin Robison sipping wine using striped straws. One captured them in white clothing, while the other one presented them in fiercer dark outfits.

The talks about Dixie Chicks’ comeback have been buzzing since June 2019. In September the same year, Maines got into the details of their upcoming records during an appearance on the “Spiritualgasm” podcast.
Among the topic Maines openly discussed was the inspiration for the album. “Songwriting is really hard for me, and I think for many years, I didn’t want to analyze my life or my relationship. I was just in it and dedicated and devoted, and if I had started writing songs about it,” she spilled. “I don’t want to say I was in a ‘survival mode,’ but I was just not ready to open up like that.”

Ozzy Osbourne Blames Health Treatments for Cancellation of 2020 North American Tour

    WENN/Avalon

Just days before the release of his comeback album ‘Ordinary Man’, the ‘Crazy Train’ rocker reasons that he doesn’t want ‘to start a tour and then cancel shows at the last minute.’
    Feb 18, 2020
AceShowbiz – Ozzy Osbourne has scrapped his 2020 North American dates so he can focus on his health.
Instead, the rock legend will head to Europe for “additional treatments” as he battles various health issues, including a form of Parkinson’s disease.
The news comes just days before the release of his comeback album, “Ordinary Man”.
“I’m so thankful that everyone has been patient because I’ve had a s**t year,” the “Crazy Train” singer, who cancelled his “No More Tours 2” dates in 2019 after a fall at his home dislodged metal rods in his back, says in a statement. “Unfortunately, I won’t be able to get to Switzerland for treatment until April and the treatment takes six-eight weeks.
“I don’t want to start a tour and then cancel shows at the last minute, as it’s just not fair to the fans. I’d rather they get a refund now and when I do the North American tour down the road, everyone who bought a ticket for these shows will be the first ones in line to purchase tickets at that time.”

Ne-Yo: 'Pinkie Ring' Is Not a Diss Track Against Estranged Wife

    WENN/FayesVision

While admitting that his split from the model was the inspiration behind the song, the ‘So Sick’ hitmaker stresses that it is more about the way he chose to handle their breakup.
    Feb 17, 2020
AceShowbiz – Ne-Yo used his split from wife Crystal Smith as inspiration for his new song “Pinkie Ring”.
The “So Sick” hitmaker, real name Shaffer Smith, tied the knot with model Crystal on February 20, 2016, weeks before welcoming their first child, son Shaffer Smith, Jr., and the couple went on to have another boy, Roman, in 2018.
It was reported by The Jasmine Brand last month (January 2020) that Crystal had called time on her marriage, and was planning to file for divorce.
And after confirming the reports for the first time on the latest episode of podcast “Private Talk with Alexis Texas”, Ne-Yo admitted he used the split as inspiration for his soon to be released track “Pinkie Ring”, and said that while he could have let the marriage breakup “really break me down”, he opted to “take it in stride and keep moving like we all have to do anyway”.
He added that while he was a “little angry” when he penned the tune, it’s in no way a diss track about Crystal.
    [embedded content]
“The song is not a diss to her; the song is not about her,” he continued. “The song is about the way I chose to handle the situation, the way I chose to lift myself up and keep moving as we all must do.”

Watch: Kanye West Treats Sunday Service Attendees in Chicago to Medley of Hits

Following his service in Miami and Los Angeles, the ‘Follow God’ rapper brings his weekly religious event to his hometown ahead of the 2020 NBA All-Star Game.
    Feb 17, 2020
AceShowbiz – Kanye West has given gospel treatment to many hit songs. Two weeks after bringing his Sunday Service to Miami for this year’s Super Bowl, the “Follow God” rapper returned to his hometown of Chicago, Illinois ahead of the 2020 NBA All-Star Game, and treated nearly 10,000 fans to his weekly religious event.
On Sunday afternoon, February 16, West’s choir, The Samples, kicked start the concert at the Credit Union 1 Arena at the University of Illinois Chicago almost an hour after its original 2 P.M. scheduled time. Congregating in the middle of the venue, they covered “Hallelujah”, “Closed on Sunday” and “Follow God”.
Appearing halfway through the show, the husband of Kim Kardashian delivered “Can’t Tell Me Nothing” and “Selah”, a single from his 2019 album “Jesus is King”, while remixes of “Power”, “Father Stretch My Hands” and “Fade” were also performed. His choir also transformed such songs as A$AP Ferg’s “New Level”, Soul II Soul’s 1989 hit “Back to Life” and Maze & Frankie Beverly’s 1977 song “Before I Let Go” into God-praising anthem.
At the event, West addressed criticism from haters who doubt his newfound relationship with God. “I’m not here to perform for y’all. I don’t do performances. I’m only here to tell you what saved my life and brought my mind back,” he told attendees. “I’m not saying that when you get delivered and when you get saved that life becomes easy, but you get to lean on a rock that won’t ever fail you.”
The “Stronger” rapper additionally shared his thought on healing through God. “With God on your side, everything is possible. With God on your side, everything is probable and nothing is impossible. That’s the gospel,” he gushed.
    [embedded content]
The two-hour Sunday concert was West’s second time bringing his Sunday Service to his hometown. Back in September 2019, he hosted the spiritual get together at Huntington Bank Pavilion, and treated attendees with a special performance by Chance the Rapper who joined the choir to tackle “Ultralight Beam”.
