Coronation Street’s Yasmeen Metcalfe (Shelley King) could be set to see her hopes of freedom completely taken away from her as she faces her day in court.
Fans have been waiting for months to see Yasmeen take on her evil husband Geoff Metcalfe (Ian Bartholomew) in court after she snapped and attacked him following months of abuse.
New Coronation Street spoilers reveal that it could be bad news for her though, as Geoff’s ex-wife Elaine (Paula Wilcox) is finally found.
As the week opens up, Yasmeen gets the bad news that Paula Martin (Stirling Gallacher) has been signed off work, but she refuses to delay the trial so Imran Habeeb (Charlie De Melo) represents her instead.

Tim Metcalfe (Joe Duttine) gets a call from the police saying they’ve found Elaine, but she’s been admitted to a psychiatric hospital.
Alya Nazir (Sair Khan) begins to think Yasmeen’s defence is completely ruined.
As the trial begins, Yasmeen is a bag of nerves.
Geoff enters the witness box and paints Yasmeen as a violent alcoholic.
She listens on and is outraged by his lies.

Elsewhere, Tim visits Elaine in hospital and apologises for ever disbelieving she was his mum, but how will she react when he asks her to give evidence?
She confides in him that she’s certain Geoff has been spying on her in hospital.
Tim urges her to reconsider as she’s Yasmeen’s only hope of success.
Back in court, Geoff tells the jury that Yasmeen lunged at him with the broken bottle in a vicious and nasty attack.

But when Imran cross-examines him, he’s forced to admit that his first wife might not be dead and Elaine could be Tim’s mother.
When it’s Yasmeen’s turn in the witness box, Imran questions her, painting Geoff as a nasty, controlling bully.
He shows the court the footage of Geoff’s abusive behaviour, who starts to look uneasy.
Yasmeen tells the court that she’s been the victim of domestic abuse and takes them through what happened on the fateful evening on which she attacked Geoff.
Soon, the prosecution tear in Yasmeen and begin tearing apart her version of events piece by piece.
It’s then Alya’s turn in the witness box and she gets a grilling from the prosecution barrister.
Sally Metcalfe (Sally Dynevor) has her turn but it’s quickly pointed out that all of her evidence is based purely on hearsay.
Yasmeen later calls Alya from prison and says it’s now up to the jury to decide her fate.
Will it be good news?
