EastEnders star Danny Dyer has admitted he is losing his hair and has been looking into wearings wigs.
The 43-year-old soap star made the confession on his new podcast Sorted With the Dyers which he co-hosts with his daughter Dani Dyer who won Love Island in 2018.
Danny spoke of how he has been eyeing up a wig which features a big Elvis-style quiff on the top of it as he joked about wearing it while playing Mick Carter on the BBC soap in Albert Square.
Speaking to pregnant Dani, he told her and listeners: “I’ve seen some strong wigs.”
He continued: “Basically, I’m thinking of getting a wig – a nice Elvis one with a big quiff on it. But I can’t, because everyone will laugh.
“As soon as you’ve turned your back on them with your wig, half a second later, they’ll all be sniggering.”
Dani replied: “I’d never snigger at you.”
Danny added: “Coming from a man who’s losing his hair, if I was to wear a wig everyone in that room has to collude and pretend that that’s my hair.”
During the podcast, the pair also chatted about Dani’s pregnancy and how Danny feels about becoming a grandad in his forties.
The 24-year-old reality TV star is currently expecting her first child with boyfriend Sammy Kimmence and is due to give birth in 2021.
Speaking on being a grandad, Danny said: “Well, it’s such an honour. I mean, in my head, I’m still 20 in a way, you know, you’re not gonna be a grandad and stuff.
“So I just want the baby to be healthy… We’re excited. It’s the start of a new era.”
He continued: “And I’ve just got to try and get my head around the fact that I could be a great grandad by the time I’m 60. Yeah, that’s what freaks me out more than anything else. Really!”
“Then a great great grandad by the time I’m 80.
“But I should have known this was coming. I had her when I was 18!
“So, you know, it was always going to be inevitable.”
