Elon Musk has tested positive for coronavirus, the Tesla founder and SpaceX CEO has revealed.
However, the 49-year-old entrepreneur drew the results into question, revealing he had also tested negative for the deadly virus on the same day.
Branding the antigen test results as “bogus,” Elon took to Twitter to speculate over whether he has contracted Covid-19.
“Something extremely bogus is going on,” he tweeted.
“Was tested for covid four times today. Two tests came back negative, two came back positive. Same machine, same test, same nurse. Rapid antigen test from BD.”

Elon decided to take the test after experiencing the symptoms of a common cold, taking antigen tests as well as two PCR tests, which take 24 hours to be delivered.
He described his symptoms as “mild sniffles and cough and slight fever,” but added that his symptoms had dissipated after he took over-the-counter medicine.
“Right now, no symptoms, although I did take NyQuil,” Elon added.
The positive test results mean Elon might be forced to pull out of a conference at the International Space Station, where he was due to attend the launch of a mission.
At the beginning of the pandemic, back in March, Elon made headlines when he tweeted that “the coronavirus panic id dumb”.
He later incorrectly predicted the infection rate would drop rapidly by the end of April, writing: “Based on current trends, probably close to zero new cases in US too by end of April.”
Since he made that prediction, millions of US citizens have contracted the virus, and it has resulted in more than 237,000 deaths across the country.
Official figures for Covid infections in the US are reaching record levels, with president-elect Joe Biden pleading: “I implore you, wear a mask.
“Do it for yourself. Do it for your neighbour. A mask is not a political statement. But it is a good way to start pulling the country together.”
