Former Strictly Come Dancing star Chizzy Akudolu has revealed that her mum has passed away.
Taking to her Twitter page, the ex-Holby City actress said: “My wonderful Mum suddenly passed away last week. As you can imagine it’s been a heartbreaking and confusing time.”
Chizzy added: “Last night she was in my dream, laughing cos Bootsy peed in my hair.
“Love you always, Maria Chinwe Obosi.”
Chizzy’s tweet, which also saw her share a variety of photos of her mum, was inundated with supportive comments from fans and friends, who flocked to share their condolences.

One Twitter user said: “Oh Chizzy, I am so sorry to hear about your lovely Mum. Sending you a hug and my heartfelt condolences.”
While another continued: “Sorry to read this Chizzy. Thoughts are with you and yours.”
Former Strictly professional dancer Ola Jordan penned: “So sorry for your loss Chizzy, thinking of you..”
Chizzy shot to fame in 2002, when she was one of eight comedic talents to win The Urban Sketch Showcase.
Since then, Chizzy has enjoyed a variety of TV gigs.
She has appeared in 15 Storeys High, EastEnders and Hollyoaks later.
Her most recognised role is that of Mo Effanga in Holby City. Chizzy played the role for five years, before leaving to work on new projects. She won the award for “Best Newcomer” at the Black International Film Festival and Music Video & Screen Awards for her portrayal in the medical drama.
Following her Holby exit, Chizzy landed a spot on Strictly Come Dancing in 2017.
But unfortunately for Chizzy, she was the first celebrity to be eliminated from the competition, after failing to wow the judges and viewers at home with her Foxtrot.
Most recently, she appeared on Richard Osman’s House of Games, alongside Tom Allen, Charlie Higson and Kate Williams.
