Gilligan’s Island star Dawn Wells has died from the coronavirus at the age of 82, her rep has confirmed.
The actress was most known for playing Mary Ann in the iconic series, and was one of the last two surviving cast members.
Now Tina, who played the character Ginger, is the last living member behind the TV series.
While the show became a cultural phenomenon it only ran for three years from 1964 to 1967.
The show was an American sitcom created and produced by Sherwood Schwartz.

It also starred Bob Denver, Alan Hale Jr., Jim Backus, Natalie Schafer, Tina Louise and Russell Johnson.
The series followed the comic adventures of seven castaways as they attempted to survive on an island on which they had been shipwrecked.
Most episodes revolve around the dissimilar castaways’ conflicts and their unsuccessful attempts, for whose failure Gilligan was frequently responsible, to escape their plight.

In total, the show ran for 98 episodes and all 36 episodes of the first season were filmed in black and white and were later colorised for syndication.
Before she starred in Gilligan’s Island, Dawn made her Hollywood debut elsewhere.
She made it on ABC’s The Roaring 20s and the movie The New Interns and was cast in episodes of such television series as The Joey Bishop Show, 77 Sunset Strip, The Cheyenne Show, Maverick, and Bonanza.
In her personal life, Dawn married Larry Rosen, a talent agent, in 1962.
The couple had no children and were divorced in 1967.
In 2018, a GoFundMe page was set up to help Dawn cope with financial trouble.
She died on December 30, due to Covid-19 complications her rep confirmed.
