Good Morning Britain viewers were left gobsmacked on Monday as they spotted a “F**k Trump” sign on the ITV breakfast show.
GMB correspondent Richard Gaisford reported live from Washington to bring the latest US news as President-elect Joe Biden prepared for office.
Richard told viewers that tackling coronavirus is at the top of Mr Biden’s agenda when he begins his role as President of the United States in January.
As the reporter chatted to host Charlotte Hawkins, anti Donald Trump signs could be seen in the background, and one poster caught the attention of viewers at home.
Taking to Twitter, one fan penned: “Seeing a giant ‘F**k Trump’ banner live on GMB has made my morning.”
Another added: “Erm GMB shouldn’t you blur out a certain word there.”
A third person posted: “F**k Trump!!! Brilliant start by GMB on Monday morning.”
“I think they should have moved the camera a bit,” a fourth viewer said.
Richard later apologised to viewers who spotted the “inappropriate sign”.
US President-elect Mr Biden is to make tackling the coronavirus pandemic his top priority following his win over Donald Trump, his team says.
Announcing the first steps in his transition plan, his team said there would be more testing and Americans would be asked to wear masks.
Mr Biden is expected to name a 12-member coronavirus task force on Monday.
In his first speech as president-elect on Saturday, Mr Biden said it was “time to heal” the US and vowed “not to divide but to unify” the country.
Addressing Trump supporters directly, he said: “We have to stop treating our opponents as enemies.”
He and Vice-President-elect Kamala Harris have launched a website for the transition, saying the team will also focus on the economy, tackling racism and climate change.
The projected election result means Mr Trump becomes the first one-term president since the 1990s.
The Republican president’s campaign has filed a barrage of lawsuits in various states but election officials say there is no evidence that the vote was rigged against him, as he has said.
Good Morning Britain airs weekdays on ITV at 6am
