Hear’Say's Suzanne Shaw unveils weight loss after ditching booze and going vegan

Hear’Say pop star Suzanne Shaw has shown off her dramatic new look after slimming down by ditching booze and going vegan.

The singer, who is also known for appearing in Emmerdale from 2001 to 2006, shared two different images of herself in her Instagram account showing her before and after her new regime.

Telling her 64,000 followers about the past year, the mother-of-three explained how realising she was the “biggest she’d ever been without being pregnant” was the true motivator she’d needed to change.

The 39-year-old said: “At the beginning of 2020 I wanted to change my lifestyle but not like I’d done in the past…

“Starting a new regime for it to last 8 weeks max and then fall off the health wagon and then try a new type of diet or fitness regime and a few months later, fail again and turn to the blame game!

“I wanted to TRULY change it and not let myself down for the 20th year in a row!”

She added that after years of fighting to gain control of her fluctuating size, the key to her success was finally being honest with herself.

Now a svelte size eight, the 39-year-old looks trimmer and happier than she’s ever been, as she shared her weight loss with her fans on social media.

She said: “This time I had to look at it all differently, take a long hard look at myself in the mirror and if I’m going to be completely honest, when I did, I burst into tears realising that I’d become desperately unhappy behind the smile I’d use to cover up the pain.

“I’ve never been massively overweight but I had piled on the pounds and got to the biggest I’d been without being pregnant, and it was all down to eating and drinking (alcohol) my emotions.

“I’d found myself stuck in my past being angry with the world and in major fear of my future – I was completely unrecognisable to myself.

“If I was going to do it this time, I had to do it for very different reasons and that reason wasn’t going to be about getting into a size 8 dress, it was to be HAPPY again.”

Suzanne revealed her plan involved running, ditching alcohol completely, and becoming vegan.

What’s more, the stunning star encouraged a mindful approach to her life and began meditating.

Insisting these were the “four main elements” to her “happy plan”, the Emmerdale actress is also keen to continue sharing her journey into 2021 for those wanting to make “some positivity lifestyle changes”.
