I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! viewers were left scratching their heads during Monday’s edition of the gruelling ITV reality show as Jordan North and Shane Richie took on the latest trial.
Shane and Jordan joined Ant and Dec at The Viper Vault trial area and the hosts what was in store for them.
They were both locked inside separate vaults that were built into the castle floor and inside each vault was five locked safes containing a star.
Ant explained that each of the safes were numbered one to ten and they would require a code to open them.
The code to the first safe was with them in the vault and they would have to work together as a team to open all the safes.
They had 10 minutes to find 10 stars, each star is worth a meal for camp and only the stars in their bag at the end of the trial would count.
Ant reminded them that they wouldn’t be alone in the vaults and if anyone said “I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here” this would stop the Trial for their partner.
A petrified Jordan said: “I’ve never been this scared in my life,” and Shane hugged him.
The radio presenter wanted to take a moment before he went into the vault and EastEnders’ Shane offered him some words of encouragement.
They both decided to do the trial and lowered themselves into the dreaded vaults.
Viewers were left concerned as Radio 1’s Jordan thought about his “happy place” during the tough trial, which he revealed is Turf Moor, the home of his beloved Burnley Football Club.
Taking to Twitter, one fan penned: “Turf Moor has to be the most unhappy place in England no wonder Jordan was s***ing himself.”
Another added: “No wonder Jordan North is struggling if Turf Moor is his happy place!!”
A third person said: “Is Turf Moor a happy place?”
While a fourth person joked: “Oh dear I’m slightly concerned if Turf Moor is your happy place.”
Jordan started telling Shane the code to open his first safe before a number of snakes entered the vaults.
The radio presenter screamed as Shane managed to open his first safe, get the star and started reading the code out to Jordan so he could open the next safe.
The DJ kept thinking of his “happy place” and opened the next safe and got the star, and then he started telling Shane the codes for the next safe.
Jordan’s screams got louder as more snakes entered his vault.
Eventually, they both got into a rhythm and managed to open nine safes which meant nine stars, getting the ninth star with seconds to spare just as the klaxon sounded to end the trial.
Ant and Dec confirmed they’d won nine stars for camp, while Shane and Jordan cheered.
I’m A Celebrity airs nightly on ITV at 9pm
