I'm A Celeb fans in hysterics as Ant and Dec take on first ever Bushtucker Trial

I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! fans were left in hysterics on Sunday night after hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly took part in their own Bushtucker trail.

Keen to get his own back on the boys, comedian Joel Dommett, who appeared on the show as a contestant 2016 before hosting the spin-off show from 2017, took the lads to the jungle clearing to take on the task.

After being bounced into taking part, the Geordie duo were unable to hide their nerves as they prepared to take on their first task.

Taking it in turns, Ant and Dec were asked to stand under a bug and jungle filled box suspended in the air.

The task was to catch a yellow star which would drop down to them along with the hundreds of critters.

Dec was left terrified by having to take on a Bushtucker Trial

Ant was first up but failed to catch the star.

As Dec watched on he appeared visibly nervous and started to shuffle on the spot.

While he joked he was going to say the infamous words “I’m a celebrity… get me out of here,” he quietly took to his position.

Despite ending up covered in gunge, Dec was successful in catching the star.

Mocking the lads, Joel playfully laughed: “I cannot believe this, how many NTAS and it’s come to this?”

As the challenge played out on ITV social media was quickly awash with posts from fans who were all loving the turning of tables.

Taking to Twitter, one viewer wrote: “Awwww bless Dec he’s terrified #imacelebrity.”

Another added: “Look how much Dec’s shaking.”

“I’m screaming with laughter. This is TV gold,” a third praised.

Meanwhile, a fourth chimed in: “I’m A Celeb views left in hysterics as Dec shakes in fear during Bushtucker Trial.”

I’m A Celeb… 2020 kicks off next weekend, this time at Gwrych Castle in Wales.

Bosses were forced to re-think how to keep the show on the air after the ongoing pandemic and travel restrictions put a stop to their usual plans to jet off to the west coast of Australia.

Rumoured celebs thought to be taking part include Team GB legend Mo Farah, TV presenter Victoria Derbyshire and Strictly Come Dancing pro AJ Pritchard.
