Jesy Nelson's little known cameo appearance in About A Boy before Little Mix

Jesy Nelson made a little known cameo appearance in About A Boy and Harry Potter before she shot to fame with Little Mix.

The singer was spotted in the 2002 film with Hugh Grant and Toni Collette in one of its most popular scenes.

Character Marcus, played by Nicholas Hoult, sings Killing Me Softly during his school’s talent show – and Jesy can be seen in the audience with a school uniform on.

She played one of Marcus’ fellow schoolmates and wears the same coloured school uniform as the main character.

The 29-year-old also appeared in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire – the fourth instalment of the series.

In the 2005 film the performer played the part of a ballroom dance at the famous Yule Ball, reports Metro.

Jesy spoke about the appearance in 2016, she said: “Yeah, I was in Harry Potter. I’ve been in a few others hun, About A Boy with Hugh Grant. You can see me and my little round head,” according to Australian Radio.

However, rather than following a career in acting, the star went onto audition for X Factor in 2011 and ended up being in one of the most popular girlbands.
