Lisa Maffia revealed she does not have cervical cancer, but had abnormal cells in her system that were burnt away by doctors in a health scare.
The 41-year-old, who raise to fame as a member of the So Solid Crew in the early noughties, said her mum sadly suffers from cervical cancer.
Lisa shared a tearful video with fans, after some grew concerned she was suffering from cancer after she posted a worrying statement in an earlier social media post.
The earlier post had read: “Today I’m at the hospital for a colposcopy. I never miss a smear and unfortunately, I have cervical cancer, so I’m even more cautious.
“This is just a reminder to anyone that maybe has forgotten to get tested.”

Clarifying she thankfully does not have cancer, Lisa later explained: “I don’t have cervical cancer, I had abnormal cells which needed to be burnt away, and I was supposed to say there is cervical cancer in my family.”
Wiping away her tears, Lisa apologised for the mistake, saying: “I feel so guilty for not checking.
“I just want to apologise, I think I was emotional about my mum. I don’t know, I was not thinking.”
Earlier in the day, Lisa shared a video of herself after leaving the doctor’s appointment, letting fans know her cells had been examined by medics during her check-up.

The rapper, who admitted to feeling “upset,” explained her mum tragically suffers from cervical cancer, which is a disease originating in the cervix.
She said: “Just like that I am already out. That was so quick and easy. As you can see I’ve been really upset.
“My mum has cervical cancer, terminal cancer, so going into this every time, I’ve had to go into this, which is now this is the third time that they’ve had to check my cells, it makes me absolutely petrified.”

Born in South London, Lisa’s mum Shirley raised her in Brixton, helping her as she trained as a dancer in her teens.
In 2000, Lisa’s career took off when she contributed to the So Solid Crew track Oh No, and continued to perform with the group for the next three years.
Lisa went on: “It’s just a message, I wanted to share this with all of you because it’s so important to make sure you keep up to date with your smear checks and any checks in general on your health.”
Giving the thumbs up to the camera, she added: “Be mindful of your health, because it can happen to anyone. So without being upset anymore, because everything is okay, I’m cool.”
