Lorraine viewers slam ITV star for ruining Beverley Callard's husband's surprise

Lorraine Kelly was accused of ruining a rather special surprise for Beverley Callard on Tuesday morning.

The 61-year-old host interviewed Beverley and her campmate Victoria Derbyshire on her ITV show following their eviction from I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!

During the chat, Lorraine asked the ladies about their time in Wales and even mentioned Bev’s cheeky nickname for her husband.

Looking mortified, Bev admitted that she didn’t realise her “megash*g” comment would be aired because of the rude word.

“When Ant and Dec played the clips for me last night I wanted to die,” she admitted.

As the interview came to an end, Lorraine told the two women that she hoped to see them soon – and she couldn’t resist mentioning Jon.

“Bev, your husband’s got a surprise for you. I’m not going to Lorraine on your parade, I’m not gonna say anything about it, I shall let him do it, but you will love it!” Lorraine revealed.

Fans were not impressed with Lorraine mentioning that to the Coronation Street actress and took to Twitter to comment.

“Lorraine has now successfully spoilt Bev’s husband’s surprise!” one viewer tweeted.

A second added: “Lorraine – if it’s a surprise then why mention it?”

A third Twitter user posted: “Nothing worse than being told someone is giving you a surprise. Just let Bev’s husband surprise her.”

During their interview, Bev and Victoria, 52, confirmed they will now be friends for life.

But some viewers found the comments a bit cringe-worthy, with one tweeting: “I always think when they say they’ve made friends for life… It’s the kind of friends you make abroad and you say you’ll meet up again and never do.”

Speaking about her experience on the show, journalist Victoria said: “I loved every minute of it and that is my mantra in life having gone through breast cancer treatment, and all the rest of it, none of us knows how long we’ve got.

“So why not go for it? Why not savour every moment? Why not, just live and love and absorb it all? And hopefully that’s what I tried to do and I had an absolute blast.”

Beverley then added: “And I’ve watched her, I watch her programme every morning and I always thought, ‘she’s super intelligent and very sensible’. She is super intelligent, but she’s not sensible at all, not at all! She is a hoot!”
