Madonna axes London Madame X Tour dates after multiple injuries

Madonna has axed two more dates on the London leg of her Madame X world tour.

The pop icon took to Instagram to issue a long apology, citing her ongoing knee injury as the reason to for the tough decision.

The news is yet another blow to Madonna’s current theatre tour, which has seen countless shows axed despite receiving rave reviews from critics.

Explaining the reason for the fresh cancellations at The London Palldium, Madge wrote: “A note to all my my fans:

“As you all know I have multiple injuries and have had to cancel shows to give me time to recover.

“So as not to surprise you I want to let you know ahead of time that I will be cancelling two shows on Feb 4 and Feb 11th at the Palladium in London.

“Because doing three shows in a row is too much on my body and in fact my doctors insist I take a day off after every show but I believe can manage if I do two shows then I rest.”

The heartbroken superstar added: “It’s a miracle I have gotten this far but a lot has to do with the fact that I do six hours of rehab every day.

“Three hours before show and three after with multiple therapies.

“I have also switched to flat shoes and modified difficult parts of the show.

“This has helped enormously but I still need to be careful and of course rest is the best medicine.”

Madonna signed off the post: “Of course I never want to cancel any show and I’m determined that I will make it to the end if I pace myself.

“God willing. Refunds will be automatically issued to the credit card on which tickets were ordered.

“I appreciate your understanding and sincerely apologise for any inconvenience. Thank you!! Madame X.”

At the time of publication, Madonna is still due to play eight dates in the capital before moving onto Paris for the final leg of the world tour.

Madonna previously axed the first date of her London residency slated for January 27, again citing ill health.

While her January 29 show went ahead as planned, her performance on January 30 saw her cut the first section from the show.

The move meant four songs were axed from the set and the show was shorter.

No reason for the decision was given at the time.
