Maya Jama eyes up Bond Girl role as she prepares for film debut

007 producers are you listening? Maya Jama was not joking about becoming a James Bond girl.

After making throw away comments in the past the DJ and model is now super serious about joining the franchise: “That’s what I want to happen. It’s one of my goals.”

Speaking of Bond, Maya’s hero is an actor tipped to become a future 007.

She told the Eddie Hearn: No Passion, No Point podcast: “People like Idris Elba, they do everything and they do it really well.

“He’s somebody who’s known as an actor but then he’s gone off and done this massive DJ career, and then he’s got these businesses all these other strands and nobody ever questions, ‘oh can you do that?’ He just does it because he does it all well and he’s accepted.

Maya Jama is keen to land a role in a James Bond film

“I don’t think people should limit themselves to one skill set anymore. If you can do everything have a go.

“I get a thrill out of it and I’m constantly looking for the next thing to do… I just want to achieve, achieve.”

And the next achievement is her long delayed first movie role.

Maya added: “That’s been moved to November. I am doing my first film.

“The character is completely different to what I’m like, I’m really acting.”

Earlier this year, Maya appeared in Katherine Ryan’s Netflix comedy series The Duchess, playing the role of Sandra.

Maya’s Bond Girl dreams come after the death of the original James Bond actor Sean Connery.

The legendary star died over the weekend aged 90 in his sleep after some health issues.
