Page 3 icon Sam Fox has revealed how she insured her boobs for £1m at the height of her fame.
Sam, 54, made her first appearance in The Sun in February 1983 after being signed on an exclusive four-year deal.
She soon became one of the Britain’s biggest celebrities and has told how her assets became so famous in the 1980s she felt the need to protect them.
She said: “It was 500,000 each. My agent said, ‘If Betty Grable can insure her legs, you can insure your boobs’.”
Sam was one of the decade’s most photographed females alongside Margaret Thatcher and Princess Di.

Her fame led to her being immersed in a world of showbiz parties and she accumulated a huge fan base.
She also enjoyed global success as a pop star who racked up a staggering 30million record sales.
Not only did Sam grace the pages of The Sun, she was also used for fashion and swimwear shoots.

Looking back at her illustrious career and popularity, Sam said: “It was a crazy time. Although I worked exclusively for The Sun I would be asked to open lots of big shops, go on chat shows, do autograph signings in department stores. Sometimes I was behind glass.
“One Saturday at a signing there were about 10,000 teenage boys who banged so hard on the windows to get in they broke them and rushed in. I had to escape with bodyguards in a helicopter from the roof.”
Sam told how she even promoted Sun bingo and the paper created pillow cases with her face on that readers could buy.

She added to The Sun that her nan and grandad ‘slept with the pillow cases on their bed every night’.
Sam was spotted by The Sun after she won a modelling competition.
When she first appeared in the paper Sam, who was born in Mile End, in London’s East End, was at school and aged 16.

The teen and was instantly expelled but was allowed back to sit her exams after her dad John appealed.
She explained John, a carpenter who would later become her manager, rang the school and convinced them to let her sit the exams by telling them, she’s “worked so hard for years”.
Sam, who is in a relationship with Norwegian mum-of-two Linda Olsen, 45, broke America as as a musician and still tours now.
The former Page 3 girl also writes music and co-wrote a song for girl group All Saints in 2000.
Sam said she has fond memories of her days as a Page 3 girl and has no regrets.
She added “page 3 was a uniquely British institution” and said she is happy she “put a smile on people’s faces”.
