Phillip Schofield was in disbelief on Sunday’s episode of 5 Gold Rings, as a contestant instructed her teammate to “ignore” her family’s advice.
Appearing on the glittering ITV quiz show, mother and daughter duo Kay and Paula competed against best mates Rob and Ryan, hoping to win the £50,000 prize.
As part of the show, the teammates are able to take direction from their personal “team of five,” who are watching the show from the sidelines.
Their group of pals and family members can help them to place their rings in the right spot, shouting directions as they watch the drama unfold.

The pair were supposed to find the letter “R” in the word “desire,” as a tribute to the hit 90s Take That song Relight My Fire.
However, when mother and daughter team Kay and Paula stepped up to compete, Phil accused Paula of “going rogue”.
Gesturing to her teammates, she instructed: “Right ignore them. Ignore them, mum!”
Phil couldn’t believe his ears, as he exclaimed: “ You went rogue on this one.

“Totally ignored your team of five. ‘Yes, we’d like to ask our team of five… ignore what they’ve done!'”
The audience burst into laughter as Phil continued: “It’s £5,000 to find the R in desire. Have you found it?”
Walking up to the green ring, he discovered mum Kay had placed it in exactly the right spot – resulting in a major payout.
Phil shouted: “Unbelievable – that’s as close as it gets!”

To celebrate, he instructed the ITV crew to blast the song Relight My Fire throughout the studio, with Kay and Paula’s team of five dancing along to the music.
Their game tactic proved effective, asKay and Paula stormed home to victory at the end of the episode, beating best friends Ryan and Rob to the punch.
5 Gold Rings airs on Sundays at 6pm on ITV.
