Piers Morgan has claimed Donald Trump was “bullish” during a phone call they shared last week, as his campaign for the US Presidency continued.
Ahead of his Good Morning Britain presenting stint, the 55-year-old appeared on ITV’s Trump VS Biden: The Results, discussing his views on the election.
Piers revealed he received a phone call from Trump 10 days ago, in which the President sounded confident about the upcoming election.
Reflecting on Trump’s tone, he said: “He was extremely bullish.”
Adding that “Trump was very confident” about the results, Piers suggested the President has been more visible than Biden on the campaign trail in the past 10 days.
Giving insider knowledge, Piers claimed Trump’s team were feeling positive about the election, as the votes rolled in with Biden taking the lead.
He said: “They’re feeling quite bullish, they’re feeling quite optimistic.”
Leaving the results of the election open to chance, Piers remarked: “I made a firm conviction last night, saying anyone can win this.”
Piers previously opened up about his phone call with Trump during an interview on This Morning, as he plugged his new autobiography – Wake Up.

Speaking to hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield, he said: “I spoke to him, he rang me out of the blue, last weekend.
“We had a half an hour conversation about everything, he knows how critical I’ve been about the coronavirus.”
Piers and Trump’s friendship is a complicated one – the President previously unfollowed him on Twitter after he slammed his leadership during the height of the pandemic.
On This Morning, the GMB star claimed he confronted the President about his handling of the coronavirus pandemic in the US, and addressed the fact he had unfollowed him on Twitter.
He said: “I called him out, and I said you should start refollowing me on Twitter, because he unfollowed me when I told him to shut the bleep up about coronavirus… and it all got pretty unpleasant.”
Branding Trump as his “friend,” he added: “But he saw me talk about it and he called me up, and you know I still consider him to be a friend, I’ve known him a long time.”
