Rita Ora says The Masked Singer Series 2 is harder than series 1

Rita Ora has teased series 2 of The Masked Singer, admitting she thinks the show is harder than it was the first time round.

The How To Be Lonely songstress will return to judge the kooky competition alongside Davina McCall, Jonathan Ross and comedian Mo Gilligan.

During series one, Rita was mocked for her outrageous guesses about who could be behind the mask, naming everyone from Cara Delevingne to sporting superstar David Beckham.

Talking about the new show, Rita said: “It’s more difficult for me this year now with guessing.

“I came in as the champion from last year, full of confidence and now I’m sort of second guessing everything because they’ve made all the clues ten times harder.”

When asked if she thinks the calibre of celeb taking part has improved for series 2, Rita continued: “I wouldn’t be surprised. Probably.

“It was so unpredictable last year that I think the celebrities this year are on it because no one thinks they will be on it.

“It’s almost like a little self competition thing going on.”

The Masked Singer is set to offer a welcome break from the doom and gloom of a Covid Christmas for millions when it returns to ITV on Boxing Day.

During series one the elaborate costumes for contestants included Tree, Hedgehog and Chameleon.

Chatting about the new costumes, Rita said: “They are so extravagant.

“They’re really putting my tour wardrobe to shame!

“I love to dress up so I’m just mesmerised by how they’re making it all.

“I want to steal them for my own tours! I’m looking and wondering how they made them and how they move in them.

“I want to steal them for my own tours! I’m looking and wondering how they made them and how they move in them.

“Logistically it’s impossible to figure out where they’re actual heads are. It’s wicked!”

She added: “Everyone’s really committed this year. It’s like they watched the last season and went, okay I can do that but better.”

The Masked Singer, Series 2 starts Boxing Day, 7pm, ITV
