Scottish DJ and TV star Ewan Macleod found dead at home after dying suddenly

Scottish TV star and music DJ Ewan Macleod has died.

The popular TV presenter was reportedly found dead at home Scotland’s Daily Record reported.

Scottish music and TV industry figures were mourning the loss of Macleod on Friday, who died at the age of 48.

They claimed that his life goal had been to “put Scotland on the map” for its music offering.

Macleod was most well-known for helping launch a popular radio venture with the backing of Rangers star Ally McCoist.

Macleod also continued to present on TV, as well as helping establish the Beats 106 radio station.

Exploring his ear for good music further, he also became a manager for a record label and tried to establish a Scottish Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame.

In 2011, he told the Daily Record he was hoping to create the “ultimate rock ‘n’ roll fantasy” with his Hall of Fame.

But despite backing from music talents such as Midge Ure and Annie Lennox, the venture never gained the six million in funds that it needed to get it off the ground.

Donald MacLeod, who owns The Garage and Cathouse nightclubs in Glasgow, told the publication last night that “Scottish music’s community at large will miss Ewan”.

A police spokesman told the publication his death was being treated as “unexplained by non-suspicious”.
