“The day before yesterday was my last one. For six hours I’ve had a pain level of 12.”

He was admitted to hospital in California suffering with vomiting and delirium after injecting the as-yet unconfirmed vitamins.

Jerry was later transferred to Pioneers Memorial Hospital in Brawley but died 48 hours later.

His devastated wife Claudia confirmed the tragic news on Facebook.

She wrote in Spanish: “Family and friends the love of my life is already enjoying the Glory of God, thank you all for your prayers, I love you forever.”

Claudia had told her followers that doctors had discovered blisters on her husband’s leg and were “intervening”.

It’s reported that he underwent surgery and had a stable condition, but died not long later.

The cause of death is yet to be confirmed.

Jerry shot to fame after competing on the 2012 series of The Voice Mexico, eventually going on to become a popular regional singer and song-writer.

His debut release Brindemos was nominated in the “Best Banda Album” category at the 2018 Latin Grammy Awards.

The musician was born in Los Angeles and is survived by his wife Claudia and their two children, Allison and Jerry Jr.
