This Morning carnage as Phillip Schofield gets spat in the face by alpaca

This Morning fell into complete chaos today after Phillip Schofield was spat in the face by an alpaca live on air.

The television presenter, 57, was holding onto two alpacas, named Pete and Spit-Fire.

Pete suddenly turned around and proceeded to spit at him right in the face.

Phil’s co-host Holly Willoughby, 38, fell into hysterics as they continued to play back the spitting clip. She then dropped to the floor laughing after the alpaca turned and began walking towards Phil’s face, nearly spitting at him for a second time.

Fans flocked to Twitter, finding the chaotic beginning of the show hilarious.

One said: “I’m in hysterics with the alpacas and Holly falling to the floor laughing so much. When Pete spit at Phil that was a funny moment and when I saw those ears going flat I knew he was gonna do it again.”

While another wrote: “Alpaca spat in Phils face looool.”

Holly kept her distance from the large animals, as she yelled across the room: “Can we have a few days with no animals in the studio please?”

This wasn’t the first animal related disaster to happen on the morning television show, as yesterday a giant pig invaded the studios.

Holly was left fearful when a guest brought her pet pig George into the studios.

As the enormous pig entered the studio, Holly leapt on the sofa in fear, with George racing around the table to get near to her.

Viewers were in hysterics as Phillip Schofield’s co-star lifted her legs out of the way, clearly terrified of the huge animal.

This Morning continues tomorrow at 10am on ITV1
