This Morning fans were distracted during Monday’s show as they spotted Matthew Wright’s new hair.

The 55-year-old journalist was speaking to Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes about the latest news headlines, but viewers couldn’t stop talking about his ponytail.

Matthew was sporting a small ponytail at the bottom of his hair, and many viewers revealed they weren’t fans of his new hairstyle.

They flooded Twitter with comments about his ‘ridiculous’ hair.

One said: “Why has Matthew Wright got a ridiculous ponytail?!”

While another wrote: “What the f*** is going on with Matthew’s hair?”

A third added: “Cannot cope with that ponytail”.

Eamonn and Ruth were hosting today’s This Morning as Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield are on their Christmas break.

They announced they’re having some time off during Friday’s episode, as Phil told viewers they wouldn’t be on the show from Monday.

He said: “Eamonn and Ruth are with you from Monday, but we’ll see you on Christmas day…”

This Morning are broadcasting their first Christmas day show ever.

Ruth and Eamonn are presenting the show this week after it was revealed they’ve been axed from their Friday programme.

It was announced married couple are being replaced by Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary in January next year.

They will return to present the ITV programme during special holidays.

Alison has spoken about her new hosting duties as she gears up for her new This Morning role.

She said of her new This Morning gig: “I never dreamt that when I first joined This Morning – initially for a few months – that I would still be there 19 years later.

“I genuinely care about the show and the viewers who watch, so it’s a huge privilege and honour to be hosting a show I adore so much.

“I’m just really excited to be doing even more of what I love alongside the lovely Dermot.”

This Morning airs weekdays at 10am on ITV.
