Tragic Nanny McPhee star Raphael Coleman's arrest past over 'blood' protest

Raphaël Coleman, who once starred in Nanny McPhee, made headlines when he was arrested for spraypainting the Brazilian Embassy in London while the Amazon rainforest was burning.

The former actor became involved with the political activist group, Extinction Rebellion after travelling the world “all alone” at the age of 18.

He then went on to become a biologist before spending a year in the Costa Rican jungle and six-months in Indonesia.

Using the name Iggy Fox, Raphaël, controlled the group’s social media, spoke at multiple demonstrations and was arrested on several occasions.

His step-father claims that he was gearing up to appear in court where he would defend himself.

The 25-year-old was accused of painting the Brazillian Embassy with red paint, while the Amazon Rainforest was burning.

Activists used red paint to write slogans such as “No More Indigenous Blood” and “For The Wild” on the side of the building.

Addressing the group’s 370K Facebook followers, a spokesperson for Extinction Rebellion said: “He’’ been effectively charged with the crime of defending the Amazon rainforest – the lungs of the planet.

“Just think about that for a moment.

“The lungs of the planet were on fire and it was considered an illegal act to draw attention to it. “

His step-dad Carston Jensen added: “There’s a video of the arrest. Two giant cops are taking Raph away with serious faces. Raph’s smiling.

Raphael often spoke at Extinction Rebellion events

“There is an inequality over his smile, no cheap triumph, just a knowledge that he is doing the right thing. It’s this smile that’s the gift for us.

“There is an expectation in the faces of young people, the Sun in their eyes, a vital idealism that we must not betray. That’s all this Raph was.”
