X Factor ‘s “singing binman” Adam Abraham has returned to his day job as the entertainment industry continues to suffer during the coronavirus pandemic.
The 56-year-old pop star lost out to Shayne Ward in the second series of the ITV singing competition back in 2005.
Andy signed a record deal with Sony and went on to release four albums on the back of his X Factor fame.
However, the former ITV star has revealed he’s back working as a refuse collector to help the community during the crisis.
Speaking to the Metro, Andy said: “I’m literally singing out there as I was during the X Factor show.
“I’m back to being the official singing binman, which is kind of cool.
“I’m just enjoying keeping my feet on the ground.”

Andy went on to reveal that members of the community have asked him to belt out a tune when he’s spotted them collecting their waste.
“People are very, very encouraging, they’re really, really happy to see us.
“I’ve even had people asking me to sing! I have been singing out there and that’s been fun,” he explained.
“It kind of makes [people] realise the voice I had back in the day and why they supported me.”
Andy was narrowly beaten to the top spot on The X Factor 15 years go by singer turned actor Shayne by 1.2% of the national public vote.

Throughout his career, he’s sung for Nelson Mandela and has sold out the Albert Hall.
Before lockdown hit, the singer performed in pantomimes and worked as an event singer.
Before applying for The X Factor, Andy worked as a bus driver as well as a binman.
